Gabe Horn – Order Puller

Gabe started at Dash Lumber & Supply in 1995 at our St. Claude store; when we sold that location, he stayed with us and came out to the East. Gabe worked in construction before joining our Operations Krewe – an easy transition.

What advice would you have for someone joining Dash as an Operations Krewe member?

Keep the yard clean (and safe).

 

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?

Pay off my house.

 

What is on your bucket list?

To travel around the world.

 

Favorite lunch spot in New Orleans East?

My wife makes the best lunches – my favorite is red beans.

 

What’s do you like about being a part of the Dash team?

The people – good and fun people!

Employee Spotlight: Wallace Allen Jr – Outside Sales

WALLACE ALLEN, JR: OUTSIDE SALES REP

Wallace joined Dash Lumber & Supply in 1989 – with already more than 15 years’ experience in building materials sales and service to his credit. He came to Dash as our first Outside Sales Rep because he saw an opportunity to grow and with the company. Dash today is 300% larger and Wallace is key in our growth!

What advice would you have for someone joining Dash as an Outside Sales Rep?

It can be a tough job – self motivation is the key. And stay away from making promises you can’t keep.

 

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?

Get a CPA and an attorney.

 

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A musician. (Note: Wallace was a bass player and his last jam was with his brother in 2004.)

 

If you could be a master of any skill, what would it be?

Bass player!

 

What’s do you like about being a part of the Dash team?

Working with dedicated and experienced people.
